Doug has been actively researching his family history for in excess of 25 years and has found that his ancestors are from 9 English Counties as well as his German grandmother. Doug uses Family Tree Maker as a means of recording the family information and commenced with version 6 or thereabouts in 1986.
Doug Elms has been actively researching his family historyfor in excess of 35 years and has found that his ancestors are from 10 EnglishCounties as well as his German grandmother. He has had the delight of standingin every Church in which his ancestors have been baptised in, married in andburied from. One of his joys has been to put his hand on the font in which his7x G Grandfather was christened.
Doug uses Family Tree Maker as a means of recording thefamily information and commenced with version 6 in 1988 when he purchased acopy in Washington USA.
Doug joined the VicGum committee in 2009 and was appointedPresident in 2011.
He has presented many workshops on FTM in conjunction withJohn Donaldson throughout Victorian regional centres and interstate capitalCities.
In his earlier life Doug qualified as a Mechanical Engineerin 1964 and after 22 years in the Air Conditioning Industry started his ownconsulting engineering practice in 1982. In December 2015 he finallyacknowledged after 55 years that he had enough and “retired”. He has yet tofind out what retirement means!
Doug is also a life fellow member of theAustralian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, and Heating (AIRAH).
