Mia (formally known as Amelia) has followed in her ancestors’ footsteps as an engineer for her career but loves using her analysis skills to investigate the fascinating world of her relatives.
She has researched her family history for 25 years and is a trustee of the Society of Genealogists in London. She runs brickwall workshops, provides advice sessions, works in the SoG library and gives talks.
One focus is providing a logical path through where and how to research. She is an alumni of the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy.
With two Unlock the Past cruises and several trips to events around the world, she loves to meet others who share her passion. As a scientist, Mia has an interest in using DNA to solve older genealogical mysteries.
The analytical skills from her engineering job help her to assess complex problems and ensure adequate evidence is available to back up her conclusions within genealogy research.
