What is included in my booking?
Yes, definitely! Details to be advised.
Do I get a reward for booking for both FHDU 2021 and FHDU 2022?
Absolutely not. If for some reason you can't attend the whole event, you can choose to book for 1, 2 or 3 days of Family History Down Under.
You can select from any of the four days, in any order.
Pricing is as follows. (in Australian currency)
• $185 for 1 day
• $305 for 2 days
• $425 for 3 days
Do I have to book for all four days?
In the extremely unlikely case that the event is unable to proceed due to another state or national lock down as occurred in 2020, we will refund the fees paid for any bookings (conference and extras) less AU$100.
If a major interruption prevents FHDU 2022 from proceeding, can I still get a refund?
You can book early without risk of losing if you have to cancel. We will provide refunds as follows:
• If you cancel 30 days or more prior to the event - full refund of any fees paid
• If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the event - refund any fees paid, less AU$100
Please note, if you have booked and are unable to attend you may wish to let your booking stand to:
• Be included in the prize draw (all who pre-book)
• Receive ehandouts (notes) from speakers
• Have the opportunity to purchase access to recorded presentations from any or all the three main tracks. See Recordings FAQ for details.
What if unexpected personal circumstances arise preventing me from attending?
The following will be available as optional paid extras. Cost to be advised. Bookings will open later in 2021.
• Pre-conference welcome function - Monday evening.
• Workshops
• Conference breakfasts
• Conference dinners
• Pre-conference tours - we are considering offering tours to one or more nearby places of interest on the pre-conference Monday.
Will there be any optional extras to the event?
The conference itself is 4 days - Tuesday to Friday - but a pre-conference day on the Monday is planned. This is particularly for interstate and overseas visitors who arrive before the conference, but is open to any registered delegates.
More details to come, but here is what to expect:
• Pre-registration (beat the rush on the Tuesday morning)
• A base from which to run bus tours to nearby places of interest - details to come
• Exhibition open in the afternoon
• An evening welcome function (optional extra - with cost)
• A rendezvous place generally for pre-conference arrivals
I heard something about a pre-conference day... what's that about?
Yes! It's going to be an intense four days of information. We'd like you to have the opportunity to go back over what you have heard, but also to view and listen to the talks in other tracks you're interested in.
Are you recording the talks?
The cost and talks available will be advised later in 2021 when they available for pre-ordering.
How much will they cost?
Most/all talks in the three primary tracks will be available for purchase by registered conference delegates. We are considering offering a selection (approximately half) from each of the three main tracks to those unable to attend the conference.
What talks will be recorded and available?
The recordings will be made available shortly after the conference.
When will they be available?
No, Family History Down Under 2022 will not be livestreamed.
Will any sessions from the conference be live streamed?
